Plank is a very simple and light weight dock bar to launch applications, but also very aesthetic. Its simplicity makes it very stable software. This project is the basis of the project Docky , a dock with more functionality. Plank dock is the default ElementaryOS, one based on Ubuntu (12.04) distribution.
Below is tutorial on how to install the latest version of Plank which is currently 0.6.0
Install Plank
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/docky sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install plank
Uninstall Plank
sudo add-apt-repository -r ppa:ricotz/docky sudo apt-get remove plank
Add Icons to Plank
- All you simply need to do is drag the icon of your application and drop on top of the bar
